Fantasy Favorites Tag

Image
Hi lovelies! Yes, yes, I have another tag to share. I've had a lot of those lately haven't I? Well, what's another added to the list? Let there be tags, I say! As the title suggests, it's dedicated to "Fantasy Favorites"!   This tag comes from  Christine  over at Musings of an Elf. If you haven't checked her blog out yet, I strongly suggest you do so. She's a sweet and wonderful person and I love each and every one of her posts! This tag was created by  Janelle , who's hosting "February is Fantasy Month" on her blog, celebrating the genre of fantasy.   I know I'm coming in really late, but hey, February isn't quite over yet is it?     There are a few rules that come with this tag. I shall go over them before proceeding. 1. Thank the blogger who tagged you. I stole it, but thank you Christine and Janelle! 2. Include the graphic somewhere in your post. See above. Who wouldn't want to use that? 3. Answer the questio

Life Isn't a Fairy Tale... Or is it?

Image
Hello lovelies! I'm back with an original post this time. I feel like I've swamped you guys with nothing but reading and writing related lately. But here's a topic I hope you won't mind hearing.   I was talking my best friend the other day after an upsetting evening. We talked for a long time, and somehow we ended up on the topic of fairy tales. We all know the ones, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Beauty and the Beast, and Rumplestilskin, to name a few. They're the ones everyone has heard of at one point or another, whether thanks to Disney or a book. They all have happy endings, right? There's singing and dancing and true love and royalty, maybe even a pretty unicorn somewhere. There's nothing wrong with these in my opinion; the world could use some happiness. This is where we get our expression "Life isn't a fairy tale". But during my conversation with my friend, we thought, "Is it?".    Let me introduce you to the

Recent Reads Four

Image
Hey lovelies! Here's the latest and greatest in my recent reads series. It feels so good to be back in the reading world, after nearly three years of hardly reading any new material. I've gotten back up on the horse though, making sure to take time away from my phone screen and delve into book pages.   Zodiac by Romina Russell         This is the first book in the Zodiac series. The good news is that the entire series is already released and I don't have to wait half a year for more material.    It tells the story of young Rhoma Grace, who, after witnessing a catastrophe to her homeworld of Cancer, is thrust into the position of Guardian. The only way to prevent more destruction to the rest of the Zodiac lies in her ability to predict the future; and blaming a long- forgotten villain. Her journey will take her to all corners of the galaxy, where nothing is as it seems.    I can sum up the entire book in three ways; space, conspiracies, and mob mentality. F

Voted Most Likely: A Stolen Tag

Image
Welcome back everyone! So this is a character tag I stole from another blogger. It's been going around, and all you have to do is link back to who you stole it from, in this case  Aesthete Journals . The concept is pretty simple; it's a "voted most likely" using your own book characters. For myself, I'm doing characters strictly from my WIP series The Third Coming . Most Likely to be a Poet Probably Cyrus . He's got a strong romantic and dreamer streak in him, and I could see him sitting around with his pet and writing beautiful poetry for his world to enjoy. Most Likely to Dance in the Rain Crystallite . She's super energetic, cannot sit still, absolutely loves water, and looks for the little things in life to bring her joy. But mostly, she just loves water and rain.  Most Likely to Look Good in a Kilt Rocco may not be Scottish, but he's no stranger to extravagant, and sometimes questionable, fashion choices. He'

Sensational Soundtracks: February

Image
Hello lovelies! Just popping by with my monthly soundtrack post! Sword Art Online (2012- present) by Yuki Kajiura    Sword Art Online is one of the most popular anime out there, as well as one of my absolute favorites. Maybe the soundtrack has something to do with it. If I'm being honest, I think it actually does. I first watched a scene of it before watching the actual series, and A Tender Feeling was playing in the background. I think I grew heart eyes listening to the delicate, romantic piano.    I could literally listen to this music all day. It also set a high bar for the rest of the anime I watched, thinking that they all had great soundtracks. Yes, others are pretty good, but nothing can even think of touching Kajiura's masterpieces in Sword Art Online.      The show is a mix of action and adventure, and drama. Kajiura blends both flawlessly, creating vibrant fight songs to match the virtual fantasy land, and sweet, moving pieces to reflect the tender mom

Lovely Blog Party

Image
Hi lovelies! As you can tell, I'm joining the Lovely Blog Party this year, hosted by  Cordy ! It runs all February long, and to start, she has asked ten questions regarding romantic cliches. I want to answer the questions and then tell you one of my favorite couples. So, I guess this is a top ten kind of deal, even if they're in no particular order. Prepare yourselves for a long post!   Also, I MUST issue a huge warning for spoilers ahead! 1. Isn't it romantic to be serenaded?       Since there are dozens of movies out there with songs exchanged between lovers, I say yes. I would love to be sung to, or sing along with, by my true love. So dapper! Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan    OK, so they don't exactly run to each other singing at the top of their lungs how much they mean to one another; they don't have to. Actions speak louder than words, and they showcase it perfectly. Will has been in love with Elizabeth since they were kids, and I sus
