No, I don't read this fast. I'm simply playing catch- up with you guys. I feel like I've been neglecting this, so here we go! Wandering Star by Romina Russell    After the events of Zodiac, a disgraced Rho Grace seeks out the Cancrian settlement on Capricorn, where she is reunited with her brother. She's content to keep her head down and try to forget, though old wounds don't heal overnight. The terrorist group Marad, and a strange message from Ochus, suddenly force her back out among the stars, hurtling towards a future riddled with uncertainty.    Ah, yes. The sequel to Zodiac (yes, I do read sequels)). Surprisingly, it was actually a shorter story than the first book, which I think is the first time that's happened to me. But that doesn't make it any less impactful. In fact, I would argue there was way more unpacked in Wandering Star . It continued to deliver, on an extraordinary level, world building and I got to explore new Zodiac w

I haven't been doing well with my new year's goals. I know. HUGE shocker. But, I'm really, really hoping to get back on track this week.   Thankfully, one of the things that hasn't slackened yet is my reading streak. So here's *one* of my finished reads. Sadly, I haven't been keeping up on here as much as I'd like, but, as I said, new week! Enjoy! The Iron King by Julie Kagawa    Meghan Chase is turning sixteen. It's supposed to be a magical time for girls, with the coming of age and finding love and all that. Not a time of fear. Like clockwork, Meghan turns sixteen, and strange things begin to happen. She sees things that aren't supposed to be there, and her best friend isn't what he seems. For she is the daughter of a faery king, and a pawn in a war that tears her world as she knew it apart.    So, firstly, I picked this book up because it was written by Julie Kagawa, the author of Shadow of the Fox, which I also reviewed.

Some Disney Magic

Image
Hey all! For those who are closest to me, or know me at all, they know I'm a complete Disney fan. I love any and all things Disney. My go to vacation destination is a Disney park. And the best part of it? I'm lucky enough to have a whole family to share my obsession with. In fact, I honestly can't believe it took me so long to write a post about it.   My love for Disney goes way, far enough before I can even remember. According to my parents, literally the only movie that would grab my attention as a toddler was Toy Story 2. Nothing else would hold my attention that long. I also remember visiting Disneyland way back in 2004, and riding everything from It's a Small World to Matterhorn. And I was little.   But the main reason I wanted to write this post was to simply share of bit of the magic with all of you. Disney constantly boasts about its magic, that it can take you somewhere special. I truly pity those who haven't experienced it for themselves.   Recent

Sensational Soundtracks: March

Image
Hello everyone! I haven't posted in a while, but it's been a mentally draining time for me. But, I'm back and ready to kick off March with a soundtrack post. This year is going by way too fast. I would like a refund on 2019, please! Anyway, on with this month's music selection! How to Train Your Dragon (2010) by John Powell   The How to Train Your Dragon franchise has become one of the most popular trilogies to date. The first movie was released nearly ten years ago (seriously? Has it been that long?), and I still haven't forgotten the first time I saw it. Of course, I already loved dragons, but seeing Toothless onscreen, him and Hiccup soaring through the sky as one, made my love grow for the creatures even more.    I got my first iPod not long after (a 4th generation, if you can believe it), and the first music I bought was the entire album of How to Train Your Dragon so I could relive the movie all over again. And that's the beauty of music.
